"Well Dr Katie definitely "saved us"! We were in a bad place when we found her. At crisis point. It wasn't looking good for our relationship. Unfortunately we'd taken advice from a local trainer, and the advice was poor, entering around aversive techniques which worsened my dog's behaviour. Dr Katie gave us hope and supported us to take the pressure off me and my dog - that was just what we needed. I feel so much better now that I understand what he needs and how he communicates this. Dr Katie showed us what was achievable through gentle kind techniques.
Albi and his family
We have a very anxious reactive 3 year old collie, we were referred to Dr Katie who picked up that our dog's gait wasn't normal and that she was potentially in pain so we did a pain trial and behaviour training. 9 months on, X-Rays confirm deformation of spine and with medication, patience and correct behavioural training, we now have a dog that we can take to open spaces off lead and can even tolerate being with another dog in the house with management. Thank you Dr Katie.
Belle and her family
The initial online discussion was extremely helpful and was followed by a home visit which amplified our discussions. We had been referred by our vet as Koko's behaviour had changed from a friendly easy dog to one that became reactive and unfriendly. We were advised that sudden changes in behaviour pointed to a medical cause. He was put on pain relief and we were given exercises and methods to manage his behaviour. This proved invaluable and gave us confidence. Following a marked improvement and getting our old dog back x-rays have shown he has hip dysplasia.
