Veterinary Behaviour Consult through pet insurance

Just like you claim for medical treatment for your dog's physical health, if you have cover, you should be able to claim for the cost of treatment for behavioural consults.

We can claim direct with your insurance company so you only need to pay us the excess amount and we handle the rest.

Our expert online behaviour course helps you immediately support your dog while learning to understand their behaviour and body language.

Will my insurance cover a Veterinary Behaviour Consult?

We recommend checking your insurance policy carefully to ensure you have cover.
For some companies we can run a preauthorisation to confirm that you have cover ahead of your consult.
*It is your responsibility to ensure that you have appropriate cover in place. If you are not covered, for any reason, you will be responsible for any outstanding charges.

Check for behaviour cover

Review the wording in your policy to see if you have behavioural cover listed on your policy. There may be a separate monetary limit applied which may impact how much of the consult is covered.

Be aware of your policy limit

If you have already reached your annual policy limit then you will be unable to claim further treatment during this policy year. If you have lifetime cover then you may be able to claim in the next policy year instead.

Is the behaviour pre-existing?

If your dog’s behavioural symptoms began before your insurance policy started (usually within the first 2–4 weeks of cover), this will be classed as a pre-existing condition and is unlikely to be covered.

How to claim with my insurance

Preauthorised Claims

If your claim's been preauthorised we can submit the claim directly so there's nothing further you need to do. We can also submit directly to ManyPets from the information you've provided.

Submit an Online Claim

Most insurers require you to submit your claim online via their website. Please do this after your practical consult, listing us as the veterinary practice, so we can complete our part of the claim.

Paper Claim Form

With certain insurers, you’ll need to download & print a claim form. After your practical consult, please complete your sections and email it to us — we’ll handle the rest to ensure prompt payment
